Dr. Levande has over 45 years of experience as a teacher, professor, curriculum consultant, and researcher in the field of Technology and Design Education . His classroom experience includes 37 years in the public schools of Indiana and Michigan as well as teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at Michigan State University and Eastern Michigan University . He served as a consultant to the State of Michigan 's Departments of Education, Career Development, and Labor and Economic Growth. In his state consulting role he was recognized as state consultant of the year in 2000 by the International Technology Education Association's Council of Supervisors. He has served as a consultant on National Science Foundation research projects that focused on student learning and teacher development in Technology and Design Education . He has also consulted with the DaimlerChrysler Corporation, the United Auto Workers, and Lansing Community College programs on technological literacy in career exploration/development and career related mathematics.
He holds a bachelor of science in industrial education from Purdue University . His masters and doctoral degrees, from Michigan State University , focused on motor performance, spatial perception, industrial design, and curriculum research and development. He is a member of the Phi Delta Kappa professional society and the honor societies of Iota Lambda Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, and Epsilon Pi Tau.
